Durability test consists in verifying the quality of the varnish of a heating body in conformity with EN442:2014 Standard, par. 5.9.

This test is subdivided in two parts:

  1. One is executed procedure of precipitation hardening of the varnish in thermoclimatic CHALLENGE 1200 cell, according to BS39000-F2 at temperature and controlled humidity. The radiator is kept at a constant humidity of 100 per cent, while the internal temperature of the chamber is varied between 42°C and 48°C in 1-hour cycles for a total duration of 100 hours. At the end of this test, the coating is checked for blisters, stains and other visible defects.

  2. A cross-cut test and assessment of the quality of the coating is carried out using table 1 of ISO2409, and the result is evaluated visually. The test is passed if the class assigned is 0, 1 or 2.
